Al-Wafaa for Plastic Industries strives to preserve renewable natural resources. It installed a-600-kilowatts on-grid photovoltaic solar system; to reduce monthly electrical bill, utilize available roofs and surfaces, benefit from peak solar irradiance, and reduce the burden of high electrical loads on the Electricity Distribution Company.
Moreover, an environment friendly green garden was made at with an area of 3,000 square meters. It includes many trees and plants; to reduce carbon emissions and preserve biodiversity in the vicinity of the company.
In addition, Al-Wafa works on developing production lines by using Injection-Compression Molding technique (ICM), where it is possible to reduce product weight by up to (30%) while maintaining the same quality and durability. This technology helps in conserving available resources.
The raw material used in production can also be recycled for later use. Materials are crushed and turned into small plastic granules, then are reused in manufacturing packaging products for various non-food purposes.
In order to achieve excellence, Al-Wafa is currently seeking to obtain the accreditation of ISO- 14000 certificate in Environmental Management System (EMS). This will help in finding an effective applicable system to improve resource efficiency, reduce losses and costs, and to measure environmental impact of production.
This document outlines our commitment to environmental stewardship and social responsibility in Al-Wafa Plastic Industries. The ESMP is a comprehensive guide detailing the measures we are taking to minimize and mitigate potential environmental and social impacts associated with our project.
